The Magic Stick Trick
An installation i made in summer 2016 in a public garden in Leipzig Germany.
I love doing things in public spaces because people go there not to see art.
but to relax. Just to be. And thats a much better invironment to suprise
and to reach people. All kinds of people. I always dislike the approach to art
that holds the opinion art is something better. and that not everybody can understand it.
its been missused to seperate poeple. the so called idiots that just don't get it
and the intelligent people who like to be around expensive art that helps
them to think of them higher. that sucks. its not like that. art its quite nothing actually.
quite nothing. or should i say nothing. Art is nothing. compared to the beauty and complexity of
life in generall art is nothing. but why am i writing about this now.
you see my writing is not targeted. Like my work too?
i think the way poeple should approach art is like they approach music.
you listen. you like it or not. it's that easy. it's emotions triggered.
feelings. that's all. of course you can get into it much deeper.
read the lyrics. get into the layers. but if you don't want to that's fine.
this way. way more people could enjoy art. i'd like that. i hope to open
people up for that a bit. so i used the cheapest materials.
the only thing i can afford anyways. but i guess i would stil
use the same material. yeah for sure. its light. its natural.
it fades. and that's the cool thing here it plays with the trees in the back.
the tiny branch and the huge tree stem in the back talk to each other
like twins. And the one almost touching the water. so graving for it.
that was nice. A moment that you think will never end.
