I Want You - Mutuo Live Recording
These sketches below express my original idea for the room.
The idea titled 'Barcelona Dark Room Creature' as you can see never
got reality in Barcelona. I created a bright colorful room instead.
Only half a year later i managed to create 'Kiel Dunkelkammer'
at Umtrieb Gallery in Kiel, Germany. 'Kiel Dunkelkammer'
contained major parts of my original idea for the Barcelona painting.
'Barcelona Dark Room Creature' is planned to be my first installation
which is composed of painting, sounds and a certain light situation.
The Room at Mutuo Centro de Arte of size 14 to 6 meters with a height of 5 meters will be changed into a dark room full of painting.
First I'll paint the room very colorful.
The progress of the painting will be recorded into audio.
The audio will be mixed and edited to a soundloop.
Then i'll paint most of the room black.
The room will be almost without light.
When you enter the room you'll hear sounds of the painting from every side.
Sounds of color dropping down. Splashes. Brushes. Scratches.
As time goes by your eyes get used to the darkness and at some point
you'll see remained schemes, structures of the painting.
This way you connect the sound with the painting.
There will be a dim black/purple/blue light in the middle
of the room stretching from the very left to the right.
Hardly bright enough that its light reaches the walls but bright enough to
keep you away from getting your eyes used to the dark if you look straight into it.
what is painting without the most important light?
what does it become when you feed it with things
the viewer is usually missing?
A Mirrow for a society caught in a spiderweb of information?
Of course the following sketches are missing all these answers.
I made them to get used to the proportions of the room.
